Alison Goodall Award 2024
The Platelet Society was delighted to be able to present Dr Sam Montague with her Alison Goodall Early Career Award at the AGM.
During the AGM, which was held online on the 2nd October, Sam presented her lecture on “Assessing novel FcyRIIA reagents to distinguish high and low responders to HIT and VITT patient serum” talking us through her recent work investigating mechanisms of platelet activation in patients with vaccine or heparin induced thrombocytopenia. This includes future plans for studying cases of ‘unexplained’ thrombosis and thrombocytopenia and how this may impact diagnosis and treatment for patients.
