Over £600 raised for The Platelet Society! (1)

In September 2025, Grace completed the Richmond Half Marathon, raising over £600 for the Platelet Society! Having lived with ITP for most of her life, Grace understands first hand the importance of platelet research and the impact it can have on improving treatment and understanding of her condition. We are incredibly grateful to Grace for all her hard work and dedication in raising money for The Platelet Society.

Due to the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, the Platelet Society launched a virtual challenge to keep members connected after conferences, including the ISTH meeting in Milan were cancelled. Over the four weeks of the challenge, members, friends and families virtually covered an incredible 8,262 km, climbed 61,294 m, and were active for 581 hours and 30 minutes, raising over £500 for the Society. What a fantastic effort from everyone involved!

Maratona 04

On the 1st of July 2018 four brave members of the platelet community travelled to Corvara in the Dolomite mountains in north eastern Italy to take place in one of the world’s toughest mass participation events in the cycling calendar; the Maratona does Dolomites. Over a distance of 138 km 12,000 competitors traverse 7 mountain passes including the picturesque Sella Ronda as well as the infamous Passo De Giau. Thank you to Pip Nicolson, Alastair Poole, Dannie Seddon and Khalid Naseem on successfully completing the challenge and raising money for the Platelet Society.
