Giordano’s Marathon – June update
Marathon Progress update – 100 days to go!
I may have gone over the top. I changed my training plan to a rather intensive program to improve my marathon time. Unfortunately, after the first two weeks of intense training totalling over 120 km, the first injury! A very annoying hamstring strain, which tends to reoccur periodically in runners. This will force me to interrupt the training for a few days and include specific strengthening exercises in my routine. It is part of the fitness game, especially when your age is a double-digit number that starts with a “4”.
Great news is that it is official, my registration for the Virgin Money London Marathon 2021 has been completed this week. I look forward to start the promotion for the Platelets Society and the fundraising. Look out for the fundraising page coming soon.
Our society Marathon mascot is getting on well with their training. Luckily their hamstrings are a little bit younger than mine, so no problems there.
Time for me to go and keep on track with my training schedule. Don’t forget you can support the fundraising for the Society by ‘buying me a coffee’ – it all goes towards helping us reach our target – and being Italian I drink a lot of coffee!
Ciao
Giordano
